Wiley Matthews born 11 Feb 1888, Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, LA, is the son of Sophronia & George Matthews. He has several siblings, some born in Texas, some in LA: Nolan Matthews, Wilburn Matthews, Lary/Larry Matthews, and a sister named Nettie or Addie Matthews, and possibly several that did not live. They came from Alabama after 1872 and went to the Beaumont, Texas area before 1920. During that time (around 1890) they had a Family Picture taken in Lafayette at "Barnett & Sons". The Matthews family is NOT found in the 1880/1900/1910 Lafayette Parish, LA census, hopeing to find city directories next and or pinpoint when Barnett & Sons was in business.(or someone else working on this line).
