I need help locating & identifying my great treat grandfather Joel H Lewis's parents & siblings.
Joel Lewis listed below was a half blood Cherokee Indian, Joel's mother was a full Cherokee Indian.

1. JOEL H.1 LEWIS (Source: Glenn Morris, a decedent of Susan's sister Mary Elizabeth Lewis.) was born Abt. 1830 in Louisiana (Source: 1880 Federal Census of Benton County, Arkansas.), and died February 08, 1896 in Springtown, Benton County, Arkansas. (Source: Glenn Morris, a decedent of Mary Elizabeth Lewis my great grandmother Susan Lewis's sister .). He married (1) LAVINE MCCARTHY (Source: Glenn Morris, a decedent of Susan's sister Mary Elizabeth Lewis.). He married (2) MARGARET JANE RATTS (Source: Glenn Morris, a decedent of Susan's sister Mary Elizabeth Lewis.) August 18, 1864 in Kaufman County, Texas (Source: 1880 Federal Census of Benton County, Arkansas, 1880 Census list Joel as 50 years old & a male. that he was born in Louisiana Parents born in N.C. & Georgia.), daughter of HENRY RATTS and ELIZABETH BECK. She was born February 20, 1844 in Johnson, Missouri, and died 1881.

       The marriage license is listed in Book I A page #124, Records of Kauftman County, Texas.
       In the 1880 Federal Census of Benton County Ark. Joel H. Identifies himself & children as Indian... (Joel H. Lewis was a 1/2 blood Cherokee)
       Margaret Jane did not indicate her Nationality, [ but both of her parents were full blood German.]
       From the 1880 Federal Census, Benton County, Arkansas - Shows Joel born in La. Father NC and his mother, born in Ga.
       Joel H. Lewis died Tuesday morning while on his way to Siloam Springs, where he was to have made final proof on his homestead.
       Unknown at this time where he is buried. (It is thought that Joel H. Lewis is buried in the Fairmont Cemetery, Springtown, Arkansas).
       See copies of Legal Documents ..... i.e. Henry and Elizabeth Ratts.. Joel H. Lewis served with the Confederate States Army.
       From information received. Joel H. Lewis... left Jackson Parish, La. in 1860-
Note.. a JOEL LEWIS was shown in the 1860 Census of Jefferson County, Texas { Unknown if this is our Joel Lewis)...
