Good Morning Michael

Yesterday, I had an e-mail from Donna Manuel, telling me that Marcie died Tues. night and that they were holding the wake Fri. and burial Sat. She will be at LaVille Funeral Home in Ville Platte. (Donna is married to the son of my cousin, dec'd. Earlie Mae LeDoux & dec'd. Nolan Gene Manuel.)

Marcie was the daughter of my cousin Effie Deshotels and J. B. LaHaye. I visited Marcie several times in the nursing home in Pine Prairie where my sister is also a resident. That is where I met your father. Please give him my regards.

I have asked my brother to go to the funeral home and pay my respects. I wish it were possible for me to attend but that is not possible. Marcie's mother, Effie, was faithful in her attention to my mother right up to the time of her death. I have never met Richard, but if you see him during this sad time, please tell him how sorry I was to learn that Marcie had died. She was a beautiful child and a beautiful lady.

I have wanted to write and ask how the Hebert book is progressing. Don't forget to reserve a copy for me. I have actually sold some genealogy books, self-published, using my Family Tree Maker Program.

During Ivan we had a lake in our yard, but gratefully, water did not enter the house. Our neighbors across the street were not so lucky, especially the ones who have garages flat on the ground, whereas ours is somewhat elevated. Otherwise, we are OK and hope you and yours are too.

I have a new web-based e-mail my son set-up for me. No spam and no pop-ups! Thank goodness!

Best regards,
