What is your connection to these Heberts? My connection, if any, would be through the Fontenot family.

Divine F. P. Fontenot married Jochim Hebert, Jr.

Divine, born May 14, 1807 (Opel. Ch.), the daughter of Francois Philippe Fontenot and Therese Hingle, married Joachim Hebert, Jr., on May 22, 1821 (Opel. Ch.). Joachim, the son of Joachim Hebert and Therese (Emelie) Gagnard, was baptized on 18 Aug. 1803 at age 18 months (Opel. Ch.).

Divine died December 17, 1881 (Chat. Ch.) and was buried in the Ashford Cemetery between Basile and Eunice. She and Joachim had the following children: Eight children are listed.

#3 Denis Hebert, b. 30 June 1827 (Opel. Ch.); d. 15 Oct. 1920; m. 4 Jul. 1850 (Opel. Ch.), Caroline Young, d/o David & Azelie Belaire Fontenot.

Opel. Ch.: St. Landry Catholic Church, St. Landry Parish, Opelousas, LA. The Court House for St. Landry Parish remains in Opelousas, LA.

Evangeline Parish was created out of St. Landry Parish in 1910. The Court House for Evangeline Parish is located in Ville Platte, LA.

Chat. Ch.: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Chataignier, St. Landry Parish, LA. Now Evangeline Parish.
