Hi Douglas,
I'm searching for information about Elizabeth Carney who md. Moses Mayfield in East Feliciana Co. in 1824 or 1826. Could she have been a sister of your John? Did the Carney's migrate from SC to LA? Moses Mayfield was born c1789/90 in Union Co., SC. I do not know positively that Moses from SC is the same person who md. Eliabeth Carney, but I have never found another one in that time frame. He was in War of 1812, stationed in far sw corner of GA. Received an AR land grant in 1821. Moses and ?Elizabeth? had dau. Nancy Burnam Mayfield c1826/28. Is the Burnam/Berham name familiar in any way to you? Elizabeth probably died young (perhaps in childbirth) since Moses married again in Macon Co. 1833, to Martha Bradley. Any help appreciated. Thank you.
