I research several Feliciana Parish families, including the Carr Family.
In the probate file of Isham Carr, in 1819 John Kent purchased a tract of land from the estate for $1350. This document was not a deed in the traditional style, but did outline the terms of payment.
An Isaac Kent also made a purchase of a cow and yearling at the Isham Carr estate sale.
John C. White was the "notary" on many of the documents in this probate file, and was also granted Letters of Curatorship for the minor heirs of Isham Carr.
The Carrs that I research were from Barnwell Co., SC. There may have been an association with the Whites in Barnwell. Henry T. White was the JP on several Barnwell deeds and Judith White was a witness.
Do you have a copy of a deed from the Isham Carr estate to John Kent?
Any information you can share, especially regarding the Carr family, would be most appreciated.
Hope this will be of some help, and if you have any questions please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
