Hi Chris,

Ephraim Esau Bass was born 1871 Simpson County, MS. He and his family migrated to East/West Carroll Parish after 1927. He died 1945 and is buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery, West Carroll Parish, LA. He and his children settled in East & West Carroll Parishes. His second wife was Laura Jones Bass. The children of E.E.Bass were: Mary Bell Bass Fleming; Lillian Bass Smith; John William Bass; Fannie Bass Tyson; Archie Bass; Hubert BAnkston Bass; J. Henry Bass; Lonnie Bass; and Jasper Bass.

As you are walking the cemeteries in East & West Carroll, this list of Bass folk will at least help you in a process of elimination in your Bass research.

I haven't reviewed all of the available census records for Basses in Carroll Parish; however, I do know that on the 1840 Carroll Parish Census one Bass is listed: Joseph R. Bass.

Good Luck,
Debbie
