I only have one very elusive name, the name of my alledged great-grandmother: Ella Bass who gave birth to my grandfather in, at, or near, Lake Providence and died a few days later. At this time I'm trying to find out the names of the Bass Familie(s), burial places, and plantations in East Carroll Parish to research, visit and hopefully find any mention of my great-grandmother. I do not know which line she descended from or who her parents were. The information that I have is from family oral tradition and my grandfather's social security application from the 1930's. Any help on the Bass Family from East Carroll Parish would be appreciated, especially the names and locations of Bass related plantations and cemeteries. I have seen an late 1800's East Carroll Parish census on-line (Sandy Schmitz' East Carroll/Lake Providence web pages) but I did not find my great-grandmother's traditional name listed. Any help and/or advise would be again, tremendously appreciated and humbly received. GOD bless you and yours.

Chris Green(e),
Researching: Bass, Brown, Gibson, Green, Greene, Hicks, Taylor, Moore, Merchant
