Visit 2 East Carroll Parish this year...

Hello everyone. Happy New Year to you all. I am interested in visiting East Carroll Parish this year and would like any recommendations for lodging & areas of interest for visitation. I will be looking to visit in particular, Lake Providence & Transylvania. I would appreciate any tips, suggestions, recommendations about visiting the area, especially local customs and culture. Last thing this Californian wants to do is come down there and insult and/or upset a native! Also if anyone could point me in the right direction as far as finding resources that will help me find local plantations and cemeteries. I am looking in particular for the Bass Plantation.
