Surnames: Bass, Brown, Green, Greene, Gipson, Gibson, Hicks, Taylor, Merchant, Moore
Okay, so I finally got my grandparent's and uncle's Social Security Application copies (SS-5). My grandfather Leon and his brother, my Uncle Will, both have listed: Casper Green as father , Ella Bass as mother and birth places of: Lake Providence, East Carroll Parish, Louisiana. That's as far as I can go, as there seems to be no documents on-line that have any mention of Ella. The only other potential is this: there are several Casper Greens listed on the Social Security database. The one that I thought could have fathered my G-Dad & Uncle based upon his year of birth seems to have hailed or at least applied for a SSN in 1940 from Macon, VA. His father is listed as Fred Green, Mother: Matilda Hicks. Wife: ?Lirla? Taylor. So then there's Miss Ella, My GrandFather and Uncle's Mother. Anybody know of any Bass, Brown, Moore, and/or Green family members in East Carroll Parish? How about the name(s) of any plantations and/or cemeteries in East Carroll Parish, possible in or near Lake Providence? Anybody have access to 1900 - 1910 census or cemetery records for East Carroll Parish. Any Help &/or encouragement is appreciated! Thanks.
