Hello Ben, I will try to answer your questions. the Longstreet school closed May 1969. The last class to graduate was 69-70. The school was sold to several people who wanted to start a private school, my Aunt Ruby Dry, a retired teacher and several others purchased building and property. There was difficulty reopening the school and the following year the old Grand Cane school was purchased an opened as Central High School and is still going. The Longstreet school building was leased to a group that was going to make a "Boy's Home". The elementary building was used for this. This lasted less than a year. Several people tried to make a skating rink with the old gym. The whole school grounds was abandoned 1972 and I believe the main building burned in the mid-eightys. Do you remember who was in your class, Hope some of this helps, would be glad to share info with anyone interested. James
