Dr. George Dallas Armstrong was b. 7/13/1854, in Sabine Par,La. He was awarded a diploma in medicine and surgery from the Univ. of Louisville,Ky. in 1880. He was also certified to practice in Deseases of children. Although his early practice encompased both Sabine and DeSoto Par, he moved his residence to Hunter,DeSoto Par, aft. the turn of the century. He lived there untill his d. 1/6/1935. His grave in Union Springs Cem. is marked by a monument. It is interesting to note that the land for this Cem. was donated by Dr.Armstrong himself.
