I am looking for information on a William H. Goocher who was head of a family in the 1880 Claiborne Parish, La. census. He said he was born in Virginia about 1809. Before La. his family was in Early co. Ga. 1850-60. I am wondering if this WH Goocher was from a family called Gougher in Wood co. WV. Any help appreciated.
