Granville Dennis & Family 1860-1877

In 1860-1861, Granville Dennis and his wife, the former Mildreth Ann Lewis, relocated to Claiborne Parish with their family. They left Morgan County, Alabama before the arrival of Union troops who burned Decatur shortly after their departure. Granville and Mildreth were my gggrandparents. My ggrandfather, Joseph Chesley Dennis, was born in Claiborne Parish, along with several of his brothers and sister.

It is believed that Granville died in 1877 and is buried in a cemetary in Claiborne Parish along with other family members. Anna and her children left Claiborne Parish and relocated to Union County Arkansas and settled in the community of Tubal.

Seeking information on their stay in Louisiana.
