Kevin, thank you for the comments. In addition to the Adkins, there was at least one other Atkins family in Claiborne. I have the information on the Adkins Cemetery, and I post frequently on both the Adkins and Atkins GenForum. I am personally convinced that my family is Atkins, however even some of them show up as Adkins in various Census reports, especially in Mississippi - and some in South Carolina. I don't get too hung up on the spelling.

Same with Phillips. Sometimes it is Philips. Can I be of any help to you in Louisiana with your Adkins? Regards, Ed
