Hey, just saw your response. I gave Kippy the info on the marriage liscense of all three marriages for Armettie. Doris told me the story that Joseph ran off to Shreveport, La. with other woman. Armettie could not read or write, so when Milton got old enough, she got him to read the letter to her that Milton had left her. The letter stated he loved the other woman and was moving to Shreveport, La. Until that time she didnt know where he was.

Armettie tombstone, which is in the Old Pine Hill Cemetery, has her birth Nov. 22, 1855, death May 22, 1928, have pictures. John and her married Jul 3, 1879; her name on license was Armate Lovinie (D-519) Avoyelles courthouse records. She did marry Jacob in Jul 21, 1891. Can email you copy, can u email me Jacob. Her name was Armintha on Jacob. She went by Lavina on Joseph marriage license. Call me at 318-423-6083, or email me at the

Also on John Silas Blaney, Jr.'s death certificate his father's name is Sillis Blaney. Cannot remember if this is W. S. Blaney, Sr. son that died, he was named John Silas Blaney. Would be good to find Oliver or Ida's to see if father info. on birthplace or parents. Dont know if he died in war, or from meales, yellow fever. Wanted to talk to Coon, Doris sister because Doris said she remembers more about things back then, then anybody. Kippy and me both were going to go talk to her before she dies. I have not had a chance.

What question is I have John born in 1850, no death date, from my sister, Lois told me granddad (W.S. Blaney, Jr.) told her. I found a John Blaney father Joseph, in New Orleans that could be his father. You show birth 1863 and death 1886. Can you tell where you got this info. Armettie was in Ms, then in Rapides Parish, LA, which at that time a lot of the Jones had moved to La in different parish, mostly LaSalle, Catahoula, Winn. She married in Avoyelles. Trying to find out where she met John. W. S. Blaney, Sr. was born in Avoyelles, along with Ira and Oliver. I am getting closer putting it together. Have not talked with Kippy since reunion.

He told story that W. S. Blaney, Sr. told story John was a Davis and changed name to Blaney because of a man dieing. But I have found Blaneys down in New Orleans, along with some of the Jones that are related. Look forward to exchanging info. Where do you live?
