I am looking for information on my gr-grandfather's family. Does anyone know about John Campbell, his 1st wife Mary Criswell & his 2nd wife, Nancy Paul. Mary was daughter of James Criswell & his 1st wife; Mary's uncle was Rezin Criswell who died before Nov. 1840. Mary & her 2 half-sisters (Narcissa, wife of John R. Seay & Nancy, wife of Richard Doyal) were named as heirs to Rezin's estate at that time as their father was then deceased. My grandfather, John Wesley Campbell was son of John Campbell & his 1st wife, Mary Criswell who died when he was very young & Nancy Paul raised him. I know my grandfather came to Texas where he served in the War between the States. After the war he settled in Texas (Leon County) where he raised his family. Any help will be greatly appreciated. T.
