Thought I'd contact you about the WHITE family of Catahoula Parish and compare notes. I have an ancestor named JOSEPH WHITE born Nov. 15, 1794 in Ms. He was married Jan 20, 1842 in Catahoula Parish to Elizabeth Aymond. He had been married to a LYDIA CALDWELL. I can find no record of Joseph White after the 1850s. He was the son of a JAMES TAYLOR WHITE, who was the son of a JAMES WHITE, who was the son of another JAMES TAYLOR WHITE. There is a book called "James Taylor White of Virginia." I am descended from Joseph by his son, Henry White, who was a Confederate veteran, having been in Co I, 15th LA INF (Catahoula Guerrillas) in the Army of Northern Virginia. I have more info and will dig it out if you think we have the same JOSEPH WHITE.

Mark Hadley, Sterlington, LA
