Richard Bannister m. Julia Caroline Olds 1849

I'm trying to find source information about the possible marriage of my 3G-grandfather, Richard Bannister, to Julia Caroline Olds who may be my 3G-grandmother. It is believed that their marriage took place on or about 2 Jun 1849 in Caldwell Parish LA. It is also believed that Richard and Julia had at least two children: Isabelle b. ca. 1854 (my 2G-grandmother) and Samuel Houston b. ca. 1857, probably in Caldwell Parish.

I believe that Richard and Julia may have died prior to 1870. Isabelle and Samuel appear in the 1870 census record of a George W. Pierce (dwelling #15, family #18) in Caldwell Parish LA, and it is believed that George Pierce became their legal guardian following the death of both of their parents. I don't know what relationship George W. Pierce might have had to Richard Bannister that would have influenced George to become the children's guardian.

My 3G-grandmother, Mary Ann Olds Valentine, may have some family connection to this Julia Caroline Olds as well. Isabelle married Mary Ann's son, William John Valentine (my 2G-grandfather) on 27 Mar 1881 in Catahoula Parish LA.

Any information or leads about Richard and Julia's marriage or other details about their lives would be appreciated.

Regards, John Reid
