Sue, Thank you so much. I've never had so much encouragement in looking for this date. The first Otto was my uncle, I had not found him in the SSDI and I'd decided that since he was a building contractor maybe he didn't have Social Security.
And I actually thought he had died in Texas. The best I remember they were in the process of moving to Houston where their oldest son was living and he died on the way. The other Otto was that oldest son Leroy Otto(or Otto Leroy). I have his obituary and it says March 1984 I do know that it was almost a year after his mother had died in May of 1983 in Houston. At that time my mother was in touch with Leroy's wife who unfortunately met an untimely death in 1993. Curtis' full name was Paul Curtis. Of the ten siblings in my mother's family, Aunt Doris, her oldest sister had more problems in her own family than the rest of the others put together.
