Sue, I really appreciate your help with this matter. The training school would definitely be out. Curtis was almost totally helpless. He could not talk, just make a few noises that my aunt could at least understand what he might have been wanting but no one else could. He also had epilepsy and shuffled along instead of walking. I might try the Baptist home in Monroe because I know he did have an uncle there but Curtis was 30 years old in 1960 when he went to the Masonic home in Pineville so I doubt a children's home would have accepted him when the first home closed.
