Found in house at 2524 Eighteenth Street, Lake Charles, sometime while we lived there 1983-1992: Lady's (size 6+/-) 10K gold 1948 high school (?) class ring by Balfour. Ring has "ruby" stone with gold emblem attached; emblem too worn to distinguish original features. Unable to identify school; may not be Lake Charles, or even Louisiana. Ring has initials stamped inside.
I would dearly love to return this ring to owner or family member. Coincidentally, I am a 1948 grad, so I understand the age involved in this case.
Have been on Internet only since AD 2000. Just ran across this ring where I had placed it so it wouldn't get lost. This is first opportunity to make Internet attempt to locate owner.
A reply to this board will be automatically forwarded to me. I can email front- and two side-views of ring.
I will accept identification of initials in ring as adequate proof of ownership.
I suspect that this ring has much more sentimental than monetary value; in either event, I would like the owner to have it, not someone else. I have no desire whatsoever to keep it. I truly want to return it to its rightful owner, either the original owner or a bona fide family member.
Grace & peace,
