Caddo Confederates-Co I, 27th LA In

I would like to collect information about the Caddo Confederates. I have very little to start with, but I have learned that the 27th Louisiana Infantry fought very bravely at Vicksburg under General Shoup until they were surrendered. I understand that they were paroled and some of them were later re-organized.

I would love to hear any and all stories of the 27th in general, but am most interested in learning more about Co.I which was the Caddo Confederates, volunteers from Caddo Parish, of which some of my ancestors were a part.

I have compiled a list of names of 176 soldiers specific to Co. I, 27th LA Infantry. This list came from the books written by Andrew Booth. I will be happy to send it to anyone who is interested if you will email me directly.

Any help with my project would be most appreciated. Thanks, Diana
