Thanks for your reply. I have learned the John & Catherine E. Scott that I mentioned in earlier message were in Missouri between Cape Girardeau and St. Louis. I plan to meet with two women in Shreveport, La. Sept 15th who descend from John Hyde Scott born about 1823 in Ga. & died about 1902 in or near Ringgold, La. The nephew of these two women sent the children of John Hyde Scott information to me but I am presently on trip and do not have the information available. My father told me in 1956 that there was a John Hyde Scott in the family but he did not know how he fit in. My father would have been about 16 living in Texas when John Hyde Scott died in La. I will try to check your John H. later to see if he is son of John Hyde Scott.
