You didn't include any dates in you query, which makes it hard for us to know where to start to help you. I looked through your old postings and found that someone had given you an 1880 census transcription that looked like your family. Your Dave was listed in Avoyelles Parish, age 28, born in LA.
I went searching in the 1870 census for a man with the surname Mathews living in Avoyelles Parish, age about 18 and found one that looks like yours:
1870 United States Federal Census > Louisiana > Avoyelles > Subdivision 5 > Page 441 > Dwelling 688/Family 683
Gripper Robers, 49, male, white, farmer, $3000 real estate, $450 personal property., b LA
Julia Robers, 25 or 26, white, keeping house, b LA
Widdy Robers, 14, male, at home. b LA
Charles Robers, 9, male, at home, b LA
Lutta Robers, 8, female, at home, b LA
Addy Robers, 1 male, at home, b LA
Ida Robers, 6 months, female, at home, b Dec 1869 LA
Zave (sic) Matthews, 18, male, white, at home, b LA
Pamelia Doughtey, 55, female, white, Cook, b Miss
I also checked the LA Marriages Index and found this entry for you:
Ida Matthews married Ernest Francois on 18 Sep 1890 in Avoyelles Parish, LA
In 1910, Harvey and Irma were still living in Avoyelles Parish (with lots of children). If you need that information, let me know and I will transcribe it for you.
P.S. Since you have posted this query in so many places, it might be nice for others trying to help if you post any updates people give you in all of the places as well (I know that's timeconsuming for you, but a little piece of info that someone else provided could be the key to allow someone on this particular forum to solve the whole puzzle for you!).
