Assumption Parish Church - Seminary History-HELP!!!!

To anyone in Assumption Parish who can help!

I have been doing research on an Uncle, Father Francois Tasset, listed as a clergy in 1850 C. at the St. Vicente du Paul Seminary in Platteville.(total of 15 priest are listed) His sister married into our Dupont family. I want the info. to write a meaningful family history.

I want to get more of a history of the work, mission, life style, these priest were experiencing at the seminary.. It began in 1836 or 38 and burnt down in 1855.
Many Priest entered directly from France, or Italy, as WE were the Mission field at the time...Tasse came to Houma, 4th Priest in 1854, stayed 11 yrs, and did an excelent work.

Do you have any suggestions as to where the records are, any local articles written, or specifics about the seminary. Perhaps in older articles, books, refrences, or the local Gen. group. I have a copy of the "Gem of Bayou Lafourche."
Please pass this to the local expert in church history if no one answers me...
I read History of Assumption Parish on Web site..Very Good!

My family lived in Assumption in late 1700's.
Wish I could be there to do this myself!

Thanks and God Bless! Claire Guidry Barker
