For more info on the Simmons family you may look for "The Simmons Book" by Julia Claire Gurley Siimon [deceased]. It was writtten in the early 1970's and is a very complete history of the Simmons with all their connections. There probably are no originals of the book available for purchase but you may be able to photocopy one from a library. Most genealogy libraries in SW La or SE Texas should have a copy. I know the Sam Houston Regional Library in Liberty Tx has a copy.
