New Llano Cooperative Colony or Llano del Rio

My great-grandparents, Albert Edward Whyland Jaques and Rachel Mary (Greta) Jaques, lived for a number of years in the New Llano colony in Louisiana. The colony was located in Allen County, in Vernon Parish, Police Jury Ward I. They may also have lived in Llano del Rio when the colony was located in Los Angeles County, California. I am seeking more information about New Llano - if anyone is still living who was a resident there, please contact me. If you knew my great-grandparents, I would love to hear from you. My grandmother, their second oldest daughter, was Rachel Mary (Jaques) Zirwes, if that name rings any bells. I know that in June 1926 my great-grandfather and his son Frankie drowned in a river near the colony, after which event my great-grandmother and her 5 surviving children had to leave the colony and move to California. The only thing I am uncertain about is the date my great-grandparents moved to New Llano....but it was sometime between 1918 and 1926.

Thanks!
