Interesting: after Joseph Kyte and his wife died in a carriage accident in 1869 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the grocery/department store which he owned was managed by an Ambrose Kyte who, since he hadn't been in previous directories or census, I assumed to have come out from Ireland, perhaps a cousin or younger brother--I wonder how common the name is? I know when and on what boat ONE Joseph Kyte, with a sister ( I think) came to US, but no clue from where--how common a name is Kyte in Ireland, do you know?
