Just returned from Czech Heritage conference in Hillsboro, TX. Karel was one of two featured speakers. Had a nice visit with him and, although we have not made a direct connection so far, he expects to be able to do so in future research. He states the Moravian Kysilka branch originated in Bohemia from the original clan. My grandfather's name was Ottokar Kysilka; he died as a young father, leaving a son, Otto, (my father) and a daughter, Zora, as orphans in Los Angeles. He and his wife, Martha Oyen, both died of consumption in the days before drugs. Karel said that the name Ottokar is used by Kysilkas originating from the Podebrady area of the Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. If you come across any leads that are directed towards my grandfather's origin or other information, please contact me. Keep in touch, Karin.
