This is not my line. I volunteer cleaning/indexing Jefferson County, Alabama Chancery Court Records for eventual digitizing, and when there is a genealogically rich document, I abstract and post it in hopes it may help someone. This was in Box 8487, Case No. 6155.
Jesse Kyle’s Last Will & Testament, dated 9 November 1907, left his residence on Lots 21 & 22, Block 9, West End Land & Improvement Co. on the N. side of Tuscaloosa Ave., together with $500 cash, piano, china, glass & plate ware, all hh & kit furniture to his caregiver Miss Jeffie O. Campbell who cared for him “during my old age and long years of affliction…”
Jesse Kyle left pictures “of myself, my deceased wife, and of my two deceased children” to his sisters Mrs. Martha Warmack and Mrs. Amanda Crump. His friend James A. Going was appointed executor.
Jesse Kyle died 22 February 1908. The specific bequests to Miss Jeffie Campbell and his full sisters Mrs. Warmock and Mrs. Crump were honored. A petition was filed by other heirs at law of Jesse Kyle. There were nine half-sibs (or their heirs in the event the half-sib or any children were deceased) who received varying sums from the total $4535.09, less expenses of $494.10, leaving net of $4,040.99 to be distributed proportionate to their relationship to Jesse Kyle, according to State of Alabama law. Those receiving a proportional share, residences, and the amount were:
