1806 Deed - now McCowan's Ferry Rd?

An abstract of Woodford County, Kentucky Deed Book D has the following entry:

Pg. 26 - 8 Feb 1806

Joseph Delany of Henderson County, Kentucky to John McCown, Sr., of Mercer County, 200 pounds, 40 acres, opposite to ferry known as Delaney's Ferry

Wit: Thomas Bullock, Thomas Redd, Samuel McClure, Robert B. McAfee, James Conner

Signed: Jos. Delany

Today there is a road that runs southwest from Versailles, KY to the Kentucky River that is called McCowan's Ferry Road. . .I'm wondering if it is named after this John McCown?
