The My Kentucky Genealogy website indicates that there was a Whitley County Courthouse "disaster" in 1930 during which some records were lost. Does anyone have any details? I had heard that there was a courthouse fire but no one could tell me when that happened. Other counties on the website are identified as having had courthouse fires, so I am not sure if this "disaster" was in fact a fire - or something else. Also, does anyone know what records were lost? I am unable to find records a number of records for Whitley Co. events and wonder if this might be the reason.
