What was the name of Lizzie BROWN'S husband and where did they live?
Lizzie Brown was born about December 1872 in southern Wayne Co., KY to Jane (Bertram) & Elijah Brown. I have not found a trace of her after the 1880 Wayne Co., KY census in which she was enumerated as Nancy E., age 8, in the home of her parents, yet I know from previous interviews with old timers that Lizzie married and reared a family. None of them, however, could recall the name of her husband. I think she may have relocated to McCreary, Whitley, or Pulaski counties in KY but this is just a hunch. She might just as well have gone with some of her siblings to Texas, or settled in nearby TN. I really have no definite leads.
1880 Wayne Co., KY Census (108th Enumeration District.): #149-151; BROWN, Elijah, 35, husband, farmer, TN, TN, TN; Jane, 33, wife, KY, KY, KY; Feriby E., 10, daughter; Nancy E., 8, dau; George W., 6, son; General M, 4, son, William F., 2, son. (Still next door to Jane's parents.)
Her siblings were Ellen (aka Feriby E.) , George Washington, General Marion, William Fount, Prentiss, and Arlena Brown. Ellen Brown married Joe S. Jones and ended up in McCreary Co., KY. George W. married Martha Ellot Stinson and ended up in Fentress Co., TN. General Marion married Martha Catherine Martin, and 2nd Catherine Mae Martin, and ended up New Mexico after a while in Texas. Fount married Rhoda Ann Stinson and migrated to Texas. Prentiss died young. Arlena married William "Bill" Shoopman and 2nd Judge Dudley Sloan; she lived mostly around Clinton Co., KY.
