It appears that my ancestors lived in Wayne County during the early 1800's. They were Margaret (1783KY-1869 Clark Co.IL) and John Davis (c1780 VA or KY-1829 Clark Co., IL). They had 12 or 13 children, immigrated to Clark Co., IL in 1820 by which time they may have been living in Floyd Co., KY prior to immigrating to IL. Quite likely, John's sister was Elizabeth Davis 1 Jan 1787 VA - 12 Jan 1868 Warren Co.KY, who married 20 June 1807, Wayne Co,KY, Michael Elrod 17 Mar 1786 - 9 Jul 1849, Warren Co,KY. Elizabeth had a son, Alhanan Davis (sometimes listed as Elrod) born 27 Dec 1805 (or 1804). Alhanan appears to have lived with Margaret and John Davis and was believed to have been their son. But now, it appears that he was John's nephew. Hope that this information is helpful. Let me know if you see any connections with your Davis relatives.
