My gggrandfather was John P. Edwards. I found a reference about him in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery listings. Apparently Jabez Edwards was a son of his. There was some research done on John back in 1975 & the notes state he was buried in the Dishman Cemetery, near Slickford in Wayne County, KY. Does this cemetery still exist? Is it the Pleasant Hill Cemetery or would it be a different one? He died in 1856 & he had been married to Sallie Staten first & after her death, to Elizabeth Cotton Hamilton. I plan to make a trip to Wayne County sometime this summer. Where would be the best place to find any information on this part of the family? Do any of the newspapers kept go back that far? A lot of records don't go back as far as the 1815's & up. I sincerely appreciate any help I can get & thankyou in advance.
