Sue, there is a David CARRANDER in the 1810 Wayne Co., KY Census - he is the only CARRANDER in that census and in the 1820, 1830, and 1840. He appears in the 1850 Census:

David CARRINDA 70 NC
Catherine 22 KY
Sarah E. 1 KY

There are two marriages for David CARINDER/CARRINDER in Wayne Co., KY Marriage Records, but neither of them are before 1808.
He married Catherine GIBSON in 1848.
