John Vaughn, b. 1784 and d. 1850, is my ancestor; and his son John in buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Wayne County, Iowa--southwest corner. Without any proof, I assume that all the Vaughns in early Wayane County, Kentucky, were related. Other researchers note that James' and John's branches of the Vaughn family seemed quite separate, but both branches seemed to use the Bethel church. I would not be surprised if DNA testing showed a little native American heritage in both branches.
What did your father's DNA test indicate?
