Hi Shirley, Thank you for answering my post so soon! I am anxious to share my France/Collins history with you and anyone else interested. I have a great picture of Monroe France. I have heard he was French and Sioux, and when his mustache started twitching--look out! I don't have any- thing posted online yet. If you could e-mail me, I will send all the pictures, etc.
Please send me a picture of Ellen; I've never seen one of her or Lizzie before. Yes, Liz was a sister. (1)Rebecca Ann b.13Mar1882 d.18Dec1941 Olive Hill,KY m. James Edward Collins 1897 in Carter Co., KY their children were: [Myrtle Emma, Mabel, Lonnie, Vina, Bertha Alice, Eva Marie, Flora May, Rubin Roe Ransey, Lee, Edward Logan, Audrey,Lola Madlyn, and Pauline];(2)Maggie Ellen b. 1885 m. George Tomlin; and (3)Elizabeth b.1888 d. 16Mar1921 Carter Co m. Luther Garvin [children: Meryl/Merill, Pearl, Maude, Thelma, Norma, Jewel(could be others?]
Do you have any info. about your famly posted anywhere else online? I would love to have any (birth) and (death) dates and (spouses) for all of "Aunt El's"(as my husband's Mother, Eva, called her)children. Ellen lived next door to her sister Rebecca(1920 Census).
I have been unable to find any birth or death dates or census records for Monroe. He sure is a mystery! Eva said he and Sarah were buried in the Limestone Cemetery. Monroe died before she was born. Sarah died in her 70's. I have a pic. of Myrtle and two children. Who did she marry and what were her children's names? I have several pics. with no names on them. A pic. post card of two men Jan. 7, 1919 Birmingham, AL addressed to Myrtle Collins, Limestone, KY from Luther?? Another card from Ensley, AL??
