I feel certain that the widow Mary Morgan, mother of Simpson Morgan was the widow of my GGG grandmother Ruth Morgan. You would think that the name Ruth Morgan would have been very popular, but I have found only these two in the areas that the families resided. I think Mary and her unknown husband named their daughter after his sister. As for this Mary Cook, she is the widow of James Cook, a brother of my GGG grandfather, Frederick Cook who married Ruth Morgan. I also found it interesting that Frederick and Ruth's daughter Lydia, married a man named Franklin Morgan born in Kentucky in 1830. I think that they were cousins. I descend from Frederick and Ruth Morgan Cook through their son Moses P. Cook and their daughter Lydia J. Cook who married Franklin Morgan. I am hoping to find someone who has done research to substantiate this.

Grant
