Can anyone provide information about a connection between the Boone and Hall families, perhaps in Kentucky, in the decades before and after 1800? An intriguing note was posted on the Squire Family Forum, several years ago, noting that "this is a quote from a letter written by my great-uncle to the KY Historical Soc. in 1906: 'Squire Hall and his father were very intimate with Daniel and Squire Boone, and my own impression is that Squire Hall was named after Squire Boone.' However, my great-uncle had no idea WHICH Squire Boone he was guessing about; there appear to have been several around 1800.-- alan" Unfortunately, "Alan" no longer maintains the same email address. Our Squire Hall was born in 1789, and his family had been in either Franklin or Shelby County Kentucky since about 1781, so the above assertion could be accurate. We don't have any indication that the families intermarried, but, since Squire's father had been a scout during the Revolution, it's possible that they hunted or scouted together in Kentucky.
