Charles, Now I understand. And some of the detail I include below comes from one of those commercially published bios so you are well aware of the errors (memory and printing) that they frequently contain. But they are at least a starting point.
Source: "Gone, Forgotten, Now Remembered" p. 107, 124. Buried at Miller Cemetery - Price's Farm: Col. John Miller 6/7/1766 - 2/3/1853; Hannah Miller w/o Col. John 3/16/1770 - 5/4/1848
Source: Biography of John Miller in "Families & History of Scott Co, KY" Turner Publications p. 217-218. Below are my notes of the information included, and that information in brackets [ ] are my notes or records found. John Miller b. Cited in the bio are Rev. War Pension #31255 and "Kentucky Soldiers of the War of 1812" p. 341-352. Some other details are in the bio including the statement that Col. John's only known sibling was an older sister Katherine married to Will Osborn - also came to Scott.
I am a researcher of Milners - not Miller- so I have only a smattering of records for the Millers in Scott Co- just enough to rule out any of them being misrecorded as Miller. But here they are:
Scott Co Tax Payers: There is a John 1794, 1795, 1797, 1799 (also some other names - will send you the complete list is you want)
1810 Census: I believe it is online. Four John Millers (and 2 Adams, Jacob, Andrew, Robert, George W.?s/o Col John) Col. John is 33110-10110.
1820 Census: John and John A.
1850 Census (online?) John Miller 84 PA $9450 with Sarah Griffith (his dau?) 40 KY, and John J. Griffith 25, KY in the household.
That's about all on Col. John. Have you checked the Scott County, Ky Query Forum for a message Feb 21, 1999 for a John Miller with the same named children? I will send you in a separate message tidbits about the other names you listed. Also, nowhere did I run across a John "D" Miller.
Hope this helps you.
