I am trying to found out anything I can on Cynthia Garner born around 1826, she resided in Rowan County in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census's she lived with a GW Maddox and she had a son named James W Garner born around 1847. I know that she had James out of wedlock as stated on his death certificate. I do not know if Garner was her maiden name or if she took the name of James father GW Maddox was a widower and she lived with him as his housekeeper as stated in the census reports. If anyone knows anything please let me know
