MYERS reunion; A reunion is being planned for the descendants of Henry Myers, an early settler of Bath County. Henry had five known sons, Lewis, Christopher, Joseph, Samuel and Henry. Christopher and Joseph raised large families in the Bath/Rowan County area. Henry died in 1842, at the home of his son Lewis, in Cross Plains, Ripley County, IN, where he had moved in the 1830's. Any Myers researcher is invited to attend, as recent developments (DNA)indicate a tie to Myers families in Montgomery and Fleming Counties, and likely beyond. ALFREY descendants are closely allied, as many also went to IN; Christopher and Joseph were married to Elizabeth and Rachel ALFREY.
Restoration work, and dedication of a monument, at the Lewis Myers Cemetery near Cross Plains, IN is planned to coincide with the reunion. Monument will list those interred at the cemetery, predominantly MYERS and ALFREY.
The reunion will be held at the Holton Community Center, Ripley County, Indiana, on July 28th and 29th, 2006. More info, and registration form is available at http://members.aol.com/myersgenealogy/ ,or by emailing Norman Myers at MyersNL@aol.com, or Bob Myers at e24rlmok@sbcglobal.net
