The LDS church has microfiled the wills of Rowan County. The will of Jesse Stigall is several pages long. Several years ago I tried to abstract the genealogy info from the will. Here is my very abbreviated abstract of what I read. Rowan Co Wills Microfilm page 89 Will of Jesse Stigall dated 2 May 1898 Gave son William R. Stigall farm on North Forth of Triplett that I bought from my father Drinkard Stigal. Sarah J. Stigall wife of Wm A.? (this must be an R but it looked like an A.to me) Stigall to have no part of farm. My wife Martha; daught Amanda Roberts, daughter Lucy? Barker Robt Barker (maybe Barber); gave daug Lucy Roberts 50A adj Henry Stigall, Lucy Barker to pay Rose Sitall (probably Stigall) $100, farm? not to be sold to anyone except Allen Stigall without his consent; son Henry Stigall, son Allen Stigall pay Julia DeHart and John Click $150; signed Jas L. Stigall, witness Henry Roberts and A. J. Davis PS: a lot of this family is buried in the Steagall (Stigall) cemetery on Cranston Road which is listed on the Rowan County web site.
