The Matney site you mentioned is mixing up two totally different Alexander's.

Yours was s/o Fleming and Charity Matney Childers and was born abt 1837, KY and died between 1867 - 1870. Alex and Nancy's last child was born in 1867 and Nancy and the kids are living with her parents in 1870. Nancy died sometime after 1880 (that's the last census I have her in, and she's listed as Nancy Slone...head of household is her 2nd husband Thompson Slone). Nancy was d/o John Ratliff and Tamsey Adkins. I don't know for sure where your Alex or Nancy are buried.

The OTHER Alexander was b. abt 1845 Buchanan Co VA, d. 7 Jun 1915, and was s/o Pleasant Childers Jr. and his second wife Mary "Polly" McClanahan. He married Elizabeth Ratliff, widow of John or James Johnson, on 14 Dec 1867. Elizabeth was d/o Alexander Ratliff and Elizabeth "Bettie" Helton/Hylton. This Alex and Elizabeth are both buried in the Lookout Cemetery.
