BIRTHS:
Birth records from "Pike County Birth Records 1852-1909" only covers partial records for 1852, 1853, 1854, 1855, 1856, 1857, 1858, 1859, 1876, 1877, 1879, 1893, 1894, 1902, 1903, 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1909. Not everything was recorded at the courthouse and especially during the Civil War and the years following, and not every year is complete. There is a database of "Kentucky Delayed Birth Records" where people filed in Frankfort for birth certificates that were never filed. It too is sketchy on years, and will only have a birth record if the person filed for one. One other source that I can think of is the Pike County School Census which you can find in the county clerk's office. It's very labor-intensive to do look-ups in because you absolutely have to know which school district (district number and name) your ancestor attended and you may have to look up districts on maps first before being able to find the ancestor...not something the clerk's office people are going to have time to help you much with since it takes hours to do. Often the districts would change depending on how many kids could make it to the one-room schoolhouse that particular year. Actual birth dates are given in the school census though, and this was info given by the child or their parents. After 1911, birth records were recorded at the state level and are pretty much intact from 1911 to present.

DEATHS:
"Pike Co KY Deaths 1849 - 1909" covers partial records from 1850, 1852, 1853, 1854, 1855, 1856, 1857, 1858, 1859, 1860, 1874, 1876, 1877, 1878, 1886, 1887, 1893, 1894, 1897, 1898, 1901 - 1907, 1908, 1909. From 1911 to present, births were recorded at the state level and seem to be fairly complete.

MARRIAGES:
"Marriage Bonds of Pike Co KY 1822-1865" seems to have all the bond records from the courthouse for those years. I don't know of any omissions. "KY Marriages from the Register of the KY Historical Society" also provides short abstracts of the marriages from 1822-1865 as well. "Pike Co KY Marriages 1866 - 1900" seems complete too. After that you'll have to go to the courthouse for marriages from 1901 - 1972. They do have computer indices for the marriage books there...not sure if all years are indexed yet. You CANNOT touch the old marriage bonds...one of the ladies in the clerk's office will be happy to photocopy them for you though. From 1973 to present the marriages are recorded at the county and state level.

For the most part the ladies in the Pike County Clerk's office are incredibly helpful and do their best to accomodate researchers. They are very busy though and don't have a lot of time to spend with you, but they will do their best....much better experience than a lot of other courthouses I've been to.
