John J. "Limpy" Combs - Who did he shoot

I am trying to find any information on a shooting in 1903/1904 by John J. Limpy Combs in Perry County. Thanks To Flo Ann Scott, we did find out that he did not shoot Remines Combs. Remines and Mary Combs are on the witness list at Limpy's trial. Remines disappeared from the witness list after his death in 1907. I believe the trial lasted until 1908 when he was sentenced. Now, we are trying to find out who Limpy shot since it wasn't Remines as previously thought. It is not listed on the trial records.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You
Nancy
