I think you really have to understand the speech of people from this part of KY. Plyman and Plowman are the same name, it's all in how it's said. I've even seen it Ploman. But to be fair, it was Plowman or Ploughman when they first came into Madison Co & then Estill Co from NC. I have a Henry Plowman who was born ca 1814/15, and I've watched the name morph from Plowman to the other variations of spelling, and like I said, it's all in how it was pronounced.
