this is posted on owsley county website & one of james and
sopha's children is roy l helton (born 2 November 1895 )could this roy l helton be the poet; birth year is the same..any info would be appreciated.i have been trying to
find out about this wonderful poet. thanks lesa:

James Helton (1846-1934) was married four times. He had no children with his
first wife and her name is unknown. The first nine children are from his 2nd
marriage to Sarah "Sally" Sandlin (1850-1891), the next child is from his
marriage to Sarah Bishop (d 1892) and the last nine children are from his
marriage to Sopha Murray.
James Helton and Sopha Murray were united in marriage the 26th day of January
1893.
